Sharing your Printer over a Network

Did you know you can turn a standard USB label printer into a wireless printer with Network Sharing? If your printer doesn’t have wireless capabilities, you can print from other computers by sharing it across a network.

Before beginning, please note that we only recommend network sharing between 2 computers of the same type (e.g. Windows or Mac), as different operating systems may not work together correctly and/or exhibit unpredictable behavior.

Sharing on Mac OS

Please note, this will allow you to share your label printer wirelessly with other Mac or UNIX computers, but it may not be possible with windows computers.

  1. Open System Preferences, click Sharing and enable the Printer Sharing checkbox.
  2. Select the printer you wish to share. Optionally, you can define access restrictions if needed.

Remember, to access this printer from another Mac or UNIX system, you will need to add the printer first.

If you’re having trouble, refer to this guide for more information https://support.apple.com/en-au/guide/mac-help/mchlp2424/10.15/mac/10.15

Sharing on Windows

Network shared label printers can be accessed by other Windows computers.

  1. Go to Settings -> Devices -> Printers & Scanners then select the printer you want to share and click Manage.
  2. Select Printer Properties and go to the Sharing tab to click Share this printer.

Remember, to access this printer from another Windows system, you will need to add the printer first.
